Underground Ballroom Events
Underground Ballroom LGBT subculture in the United States is where participants "walk" (i.e., compete) for trophies and prizes at events known as balls. Some who walk also dance; others compete in drag genres, trying to pass as a gender and social class. Most participants in ball culture belong to groups known as "houses". Houses, also called "families", are LGBT groups which band together under a "house mother" (sometimes a drag queen or transgender person) or "house father".

LGBT Pride, Parties, and Events
These events show a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase their visibility as asocial group, build community, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance. Pride, as opposed to shame andsocial stigma, is the predominant outlook that bolsters most LGBT rights movements throughout the world.
Community Service Projects
HOPLA is involved with numerous agencies and organizations that support and help the LGBT community. The organization of our choice is the Lost-n-Found Youth Organization. Lost-n-Found Youth is an Atlanta-based nonprofit corporation whose mission is to take homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youths to age 26 off the street and transition them into more permanent housing.
Spring/Summer Retreats
In our ogranization we like to do lots of retreats. We believe that not only should we work well together but play together as well. All work and no play makes jane a dull girl so since we dont like to be dull. We like to go out to movies, beaches, and weekend getaway trips. We also invite non-members of the organization to join in our merriment.
